Reticules, reticules, reticules. [Nov. 13th, 2011|01:58 pm]
Jane Austen Festival, Bath

katexxxxxx and I have spent the last couple of weeks making some pretty silk ribbon embroidered reticules, which we have listed in our Etsy shop.

According to Gail Marsh silk ribbon embroidery was used from the 18th Century on, and the reticule below has a lovely Regency look to my eyes.

So if you are stumped for a present idea for the Jane Austen Fest fan in your life, or want to drop some hints for yourself, please come and have a look.

Here is one of them, to whet your appetite.

Crossposted  a bit, but I've tried to use different images in different comms

Newbie! [May. 28th, 2008|09:10 pm]
Jane Austen Festival, Bath

Hello Everybody,

i found thise community thru regencyfashion LJ community.
My name is Shari and i live in the Netherlands.
I have a atelier for historical costumes and accesoires at home, my website:
(thats just for referenc and interest, not really here to promote myself ;))

Ofcourse i'm a Jane Austen fan and i'm going the last 2 days of the festival!
Wich means i'm going to the Regency Ball and the Regency workshop with cream tea,i'm really excited about this!
Has anybody been to these events before?
This is my first time!

Also a note on the Regency Ball and workshop tickets, they were sold out when i checked the website last week.
BUT! I called them up and they did get back some tickets wich didn't get sold thru an other bookingagency.
If your quick, you can still get some by personally contacting them thru email, or quicker by phone.

For my ballgown, i was thinking of making a cream gown with creme/gold trimmings and a detacheble train of minth green with beige lace and pearls.
The dress is halfway finished.
Do you now anyplace to buy some decent historically correct or near too shoes for the ball?

Right, september might seem pretty far away [May. 26th, 2006|12:39 am]

but it's best to be safe. I'd like to get started with the costumes and I was wondering what dresses I should make for the event. I know for sure that the ball gown is a must and something fitting for a promenade, but what more? Any suggestions?

Wow I never even knew that a Jane Austen festival existed! Thanks to the mod(s) who created this community! Hopefully I'll be able to come to the festival one of these days (living out in California atm).

I find it funny that the festival is in Bath. Didn't Jane hate Bath, or did my professors lie to me haha?
